Basic courses

We offer basic courses at levels B2 and C1About proficiency levels:

These courses are designed for immigrants who can provide the necessary evidence of previous knowledge of German and are registered as looking for a training post, looking for work, or unemployed. Participation is only possible with (partial) funding from the BAMF (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees).

The basic course B2 is aimed at participants who have already completed level B1About proficiency levels:

One teaching unit = 45 minutes.

The basic course C1 is aimed at participants who have already completed level B2About proficiency levels:

One teaching unit = 45 minutes.

Each of these courses is concluded with the exam Deutsch-Test für den Beruf at the respective target level of the course (B2 or C1About proficiency levels:

Classes are conducted by qualified teachers and take place Mondays to Fridays, with 4 to 5 teaching unitsTeaching units:
One teaching unit = 45 minutes per day.

Registration

German language students who are interested in the basic courses must first attend a consultation with the office responsible for them: this may be either the Job Centre or the Employment Agency, depending on personal circumstances. If you are unsure who the appropriate contact is for you, please get in touch with us; we can identify the correct office. They will then let you know if you are entitled to take part in one of these courses.

If you receive a confirmation of entitlement, it will be valid for 3 months. Once you have submitted your confirmation of entitlement to Sprachenakademie, you have 4 weeks to begin taking a course. If no free spaces are available, Sprachenakademie is obliged to point you towards other language schools.

PLEASE NOTE: At the time being, there are no dates for vocational language courses 2025. Unfortunately, the BAMF has not yet confirmed the dates. We are therefore currently unable to accept registrations or make consultation appointments. As soon as we receive a firm confirmation from the BAMF, we will publish the new course dates here.
