Known as the Aachener Sprachwinter, the FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences offers winter courses in German as a foreign language. The courses take place in Aachen and Berlin: At the beginning of January, the international students will arrive in Aachen and stay there for four weeks. On 31 January the winter course group will travel to Berlin as the last two weeks of the course will take place in the German capital.
Join the Sprachwinter to improve your language skills through intensive German courses and experience everyday life in two very different German cities: Aachen is located in western Germany, has about 250,000 inhabitants and 4 universities. Berlin, Germany’s formerly divided capital, is located in the east of the country, has around 3.5 million inhabitants and 40 universities. Both locations have a lot to offer: In class as well as in our varied cultural and leisure programme, you will get to know both cities well.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to get to know two neighboring countries of Germany: We will offer European city trips on the weekends to the European capitals Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Paris (France). These trips are optional and incur additional fees.
Students can book a bed in a shared dorm for the duration of the course.
In 2019, the Aachener Sprachwinter will take place during the following period:
4 January – 15 February (accommodation: 3 January – 16 February)
