We offer technical German courses in the following subjects:

 

Course description:

 

Technical German Engineering

The course is primarily aimed at students of Engineering and related subjects.
As a course attendee, you will acquire language skills tailored to your area of study and professional context. The main focus will be on improving oral and written expression, the application and extension of specialist vocabulary, as well as reading, analysis and communication strategies. The range of topics is interdisciplinary and covers not only application-relevant elements but also essential areas of engineering such as information technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, drive and engine technology, electromobility, electrical engineering and energy technology. In addition, the course includes class excursions to Forschungszentrum Jülich (research centre Jülich) and an Aachen-based company with subsequent interdisciplinary project work.

 

Technical German Medicine

The course is primarily aimed at students of medicine and related subjects and deals with central areas of the professional work routine in a hospital. The main focus will be on improving oral and written expression, the application and extension of specialist vocabulary, as well as reading, analysis and communication strategies. By means of numerous role plays, participants will practice communication with patients and their relatives as well as with medical staff. Among the topics treated in the course are anamnesis, physical examination, diagnostic conversation and patient education, medication, the German health system as well as technical language examination formats (in the field of medicine). An application training for doctors is part of the programme.

 

Technical German Economics

The course is primarily aimed at students of Business Administration, Economics and related subjects. As a course attendee, you will acquire language skills tailored to your area of study and professional context. The main focus will be on improving oral and written expression, the application and extension of specialist vocabulary, as well as reading, analysis and communication strategies. Among the topics treated in the course are corporate structure, legal forms, marketing, advertising and consumer behavior, business correspondence, contracts, negotiations and international cooperation.

In addition, the course includes class excursions to Forschungszentrum Jülich (research centre Jülich) and an Aachen-based company with subsequent interdisciplinary project work.

 

Course participants require German language skills at level B2ABOUT PROFICIENCY LEVELS:

German lessons take place Mondays – Fridays and comprise 5 teaching units Teaching units:
One teaching unit = 45 minutes
 
per day. Outside the classroom, you will also have plenty of fascinating opportunities to get acquainted with German culture in a unique European context: the course fee includes a diverse cultural and recreational programme that takes students to the German borders and beyond! (Due to the inclusion of subject-specific excursions, the programme for participants in our Technical German courses may differ slightly from the general cultural and recreational programme.)

To register for the Technical German course and book your accommodation, please begin by filling out the application form. The next steps of the application process can be found in the booking terms and conditions at the bottom of the application form. The course fee is €530 and includes all lessons plus the cultural/recreational programme (excluding weekend trips). The accommodation fee depends on your choice of room type.
