Accommodation Booking Terms and Conditions

Our rooms are located in international students‘ residences. For accommodation bookings the following terms and conditions apply:

  1. The booking of accommodation is only possible in combination with a course booking. The accommodation fee must be paid together with the course fee within one week of receiving the confirmation of application.
  2. As a general rule, a cancellation of accommodation is possible only when the course booking is also cancelled and the same deadlines apply (see 4. of course booking terms and conditions).
  3. The residences are located at several sites in Aachen, not far from the city centre. For organisational reasons, participants will be told the address of their accommodation when checking in at the arrival office.
  4. A key deposit of €100.00 per person must be paid upon check in on arrival day. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the stay if the accommodation is left clean and undamaged. Any damage caused during the stay must be reported immediately. As the amount of damage may exceed the key deposit, it is compulsory to take out personal liability insurance (see 5. of course booking terms and conditions).
  5. Checking in is possible only on the official arrival day (7th of July/4th of August) between 11.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. Earlier check in is not possible. Late check-in is only possible through special appointments arranged with, and confirmed by, the provider. Check out will be on the 1st of August/29th of August in the morning. The exact check out time will be announced during the course.
  6. Sheets, pillows and blankets are provided. Towels must be brought by participants.
  7. Bathrooms and kitchens are shared by several participants (not necessarily of the same sex) for all room types. Basic dishes and cutlery are available in the kitchens. If further cooking utensils are needed, they must be purchased.
  8. There are no lockers available in the accommodation.
  9. Upon check in at the arrival office, participants will receive information about where in the accommodation itself one can do laundry or where a self-service laundry can be found. Using a laundromat costs about €2.50 per washing load. The exact conditions depend on the respective venue.
  10. In case of a loss of keys, participants must bear the costs for key service and, if necessary, new locks and doors.
  11. Participants are responsible for keeping their accommodation clean. Cleaning utensils such as brooms are available, cleaning agents must be purchased. During their stay, participants will receive more detailed information about how the accommodation must be cleaned before checking out.
  12. There is no Wi-Fi available in the accommodation, the internet connection is wired (i.e. participants who would like to use internet in their rooms must bring their own laptop.) Setup of the wired connection can take a couple of days as the student residences have specific rules about internet activation that must be adhered to.
