FH Aachen Language Centre

The FH Aachen language centre carries out language courses and linguistic examinations on an academic level at the sites Aachen, Jülich, Linnich and Geilenkirchen. At all sites there are consultation and counselling facilities for students and applicants.
Along with courses being held during the semesters the language centre also organizes our Summer and Winter School  (intensive language courses during the free period, open for students of all departments) as well as the so-called Aachener Sprachsommer  (German language courses taking place on an annual basis during the months July until September) and, in addition to that, it supports the Freshman Institute of the FH Aachen in the areas languages, humanities as well as economics.

Along with internal academic examinations, the language centre also offers linguistic entrance tests for selected courses of studies,  German examinations for academic entrance qualifications in Germany (DSH, TestDaF), English examinations for international academic entrance qualifications (IELTS, TOEFL), additional standardised and internationally acknowledged examinations (amongst others Zertifikat Deutsch B1 , TOEIC) as well as study capability tests (such as TestAS ).

The language centre takes care of different programmes for exchange students and visiting students, for example the programme "Internationale Germanistik" and the study module „DSH Preparation“.
For the faculties and institutions of the FH Aachen the language centre offers a multitude of different services, mainly in the field of accreditation of language certificates, vocational trainings as well as translations.

Since 2005 the language centre is attached as an institute to the FH Aachen on the basis of a cooperation contract with Sprachenakademie Aachen. In this function, it is also responsible for the representative office in Beijing (People’s Republic of China).
